CLARA FRANTZ (published on January 17, 2009)

CLARA FRANTZ (nee TITTLEMIER) 1911 - 2009 It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Clara Frantz on January 14, 2009 at Betel Home in Selkirk, MB Clara was predeceased by her beloved husband Anton (Tony) Frantz on January 19 1995; her beloved grandson, Mitch Murray in October 2004; six brothers and four sisters. Mom will be sadly missed by her daughter Morna and her husband John Murray of Ancaster, ON.; her son Verne and his wife Maria of Sardis, BC; her cherished grandchildren, Larry (Holly) Frantz, Pamela O'Leary, Sharon (Gord) McMaster, Susan (Mark) Woodruff and Donald Frantz. Beloved great-grandsons, Karl and Eric Frantz, Gordie and Tyson McMaster and great-great-grandson Nash, as well as many dear nieces and nephews. Clara was born on February16, 1911 and grew up at her parents homestead on the Whitemouth River near River Hills, MB. Life was always a struggle on the farm and as her father died when she was very young, it was a hard life for Clara, her mother and other siblings still at home. So many wonderful stories have come from that time. She married Anton (Tony) Frantz on June 30, 1930 and after working their own small farm for six years they moved to Seven Sisters Falls and lived there until 1969. Clara had a busy life in Seven Sisters. Besides raising her two children, she was a very active member of the community, an avid skier, curler and gardener and always ready to participate in her children's activities. Upon retirement they moved to Selkirk, MB where she took up golfing, continued curling, and loved visiting their cottage on the Whitemouth River. Mom was a strong and determined woman who always put her family first. Her family was most important to her. We will love you forever and always Mom. A celebration of Clara's life will be held at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB. on Wednesday, January 21 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Deborah Vitt officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, River Hills, MB. If you so wish donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Fund or St Pauls Lutheran Church in her memory. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
