MARJORIE ELIZABETH DUNDERDALE (published on January 21, 2009)

MARJORIE ELIZABETH DUNDERDALE It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marjorie on Saturday, January 17, 2009 in her 98th year. Marjorie belonged to a longtime Winnipeg family, her parents, Harry and Evelyn and brothers, Jack and Tom. She was also the much loved aunt of Elizabeth (Grey), Margaret (Tom), Patricia (Ian), Tom and Peter (Kathy) and their families. She attended Greenway School, Daniel MacIntyre Collegiate, and graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1931. She worked for the Department of Mines and Natural Resources Manitoba and for Manitoba Hydro. Marjorie felt one should support their communities and was very involved in and supportive of Young United Church, and other organizations in Winnipeg such as the YWCA and the University Women's Club. Marjorie enjoyed and loved her circle of family and friends. All who knew her were blessed with her kindness and caring, her generosity, her wonderful sense of humour and her great laugh. She was always ready to sit down and have a cup of tea and share a piece of lemon pie. She was a person of great principles with a consistently positive outlook on life. For her the sky was always blue, and you could never do anything about the weather. In the last years of her life, Marjorie received wonderful care from her many good friends and also from the staff at Tuxedo Villa. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 24, 2009, 3:00 p.m. at Young United Church, corner of Broadway and Furby. In keeping with Marjorie's spirit of community support and generosity, if desired, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
