MARJORIE (DOOLEY) HELEN WESTMACOTT (published on January 22, 2009)

MARJORIE (DOOLEY) HELEN WESTMACOTT November 27, 1920 - January 16, 2009 The family of Dooley Westmacott celebrates the life of their much beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Dooley was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the second of three girls born to Alice and Percy White. In 1942, Dooley married Gordon Westmacott and settled in East Kildonan. Dooley's priority was raising her children and providing business support to Gord. In 1959 Dooley and Gord moved their family to Calgary, where Dooley became actively involved in her church, curling and volunteer work. She spent countless hours at the Sarcee Hospital assisting patients and their families to flourish in the face of adversity. Dooley's energy was always focused on her family and friends and at her home, the coffee was always on. She loved to share in the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her natural ability to play the piano provided many hours of entertainment in her family and volunteer life. Dooley is lovingly survived by her son Martin (Penny), daughters Penny Wilkes (Greg), and Jay Webber (Glenn), eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Kathleen (Jack) Bresnahan, and niece Laurel Bresnahan. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon in 2003. Those wishing may make donations to: Myeloma Canada, P.O. Box 326, Kirkland, PQ, H9H 0A4 or Carewest Sarcee Volunteer Association, 3504 Sarcee Road SW, Calgary, AB T3E 4T4. Private family funeral at a future date.
