HAROLD RICHARD MCDOUGALL (published on January 22, 2009)

HAROLD RICHARD MCDOUGALL Quietly and with great sadness Richard passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at the age of 57. Richard was an intensely private individual who was happiest as a lone wolf. He loved to play at the edge of life, testing its boundaries over and over again. He constantly looked death in the face and said just try and get me. He was a passionate man who challenged all who knew him and met him with his words and actions. He was a man once met would not be forgotten. He loved his children and granddaughter dearly. He loved living and was never shy about it. He was something! He was truly loved by those who knew him well, although he always challenged that love. Richard now knows peace. With great sadness in his passing he leaves to mourn his partner Susan, son Riley, daughter Allison, granddaughter Evangeline, sister Linda, brother Tom and many nieces. Richard's closest and best friend from childhood days to the day of his passing Ken McGee was by his side helping and listening. Also, friend Howard Lavitt visited Saturdays to share many jokes with Richard. Many thanks to TLC Marcos, Gordon and staff and to all the staff of Unit 5 3rd floor Seven Oaks Hospital. Thank you Dr. Bhanot. Memorial will take place this summer on his birthday July 7, in Minnedosa. In lieu of flowers donations greatly appreciated to Transitional Living Centre, 1010 Sinclair St., Winnipeg, R2V 3H7.
