NORMAN SIATECKI (published on January 24, 2009)

NORMAN SIATECKI Peacefully, at home, Norman Siatecki of Neepawa, MB passed away January 19, 2009 at the age of 70 years. Born in Snowflake, Manitoba to Mary and Paul Siatecki he moved to Winnipeg when he was 15 years. He discovered his passion for weightlifting that he maintained until his death. He was an employee of the Manitoba Telephone System for 38 years. During his retirement he expanded on his love of gardening, helping neighbours, friends and family. He was noted for his dill pickles and enjoyed his volunteering at Access to Books. He met and married Marlene Chesney in Portage la Prairie and they moved to Neepawa in 1966 where they raised their two sons, Philip and Chris. He was very proud of his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Also special in his life were Abby, Haley and Rory Cathcart. Surviving are his wife Marlene, sons Philip (Wanda) granddaughter Ally and Christopher (Lisa) and grandchildren Sydney, Eachoe and Sterling. Also surviving are mother Mary Siatecki, and sisters Rose Deibert and Kay (Murray) Simpson and nephew Darrell (Joan) Deibert, of Winnipeg. As requested by Norm, cremation has taken place.
