MARIANNE BONNIE NYZNYK (published on January 24, 2009)

MARIANNE BONNIE NYZNYK 1951 - 2009 Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here. Ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, Marianne, on January 18, 2009. Marianne is survived by her loving sons, David (Ingrid), Brent (Tara) and Bradley who will miss her dearly. She is also survived by her five siblings, Milf, Gloria, Dennis, Janice and Debbie, and their families. Marianne's life changed dramatically when she survived a massive brain-stem stroke on February 24, 1989. Notwithstanding the physical burdens, and associated life challenges, her faith and her devotion to her family gave her the strength and courage to endure. She guided, loved and nurtured her three sons aged 16, 12 and eight for another 20 years. She supported us in our failures and celebrated our accomplishments, and we are committed to being a living memorial for all the good things she stood for. Marianne never asked for what she wanted, but only asked for what she needed. Unconditionally she always gave everyone the one thing that she did have to give, which was love. As her three sons, we would like to take this opportunity to extend our deepest thanks to all those friends and family who were there for her when she reached out in times of need. As well, St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, The Stroke Recovery Association of Manitoba and The Independent Living Resource Centre, which all contributed in their own special way. Mom, we know that you are watching over us now from heaven because we can feel your strong presence. We know you will still sing us Happy Birthday , and be there for us in times of need. We love you. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 24, 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church located at 250 Jefferson Ave., followed by interment at Brookside Cemetery.
