THELMA GLADYS SAMAGALSKI July 6, 1934 January 22, 2009 Unexpectedly, but peacefully with her husband at her side our loving wife, mother and baba passed away at the age of 74. Thelma was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by her husband of 50 years Nick, her four children, Trevor (Peggy), Debbie (Jeff), Sandra (Jim), Tracy (Ken) and her eight grandchildren, Tara (David), Derek, Tyler (Janelle), Bre-ann (Jason), Matthew, Erin, Jordan and Jake. Also left to mourn her passing is Aunty Irma of Selkirk as well as her siblings, Harry of Yorkton, SK; Ivy of Kamloops, BC; Wilburt (Eleanor) of Victoria, BC; Inis (Ed) of Winnipeg; Garnet (Ella) of Calgary, AB; Karen (Nick) of Creston, BC; Ken (Angie) of Edmonton, AB; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Thelma was predeceased by her parents, Wesley and Gladys; her brothers Jim, Al, Everett, Bob, Gordon and her sister Faye. Thelma was born in Ridgedale, SK and moved to Manitoba in 1952 where she met her loving husband and started their journey together. Thelma and Nick were married on May 31, 1958 and celebrated their 50th anniversary last May where they were surrounded by family and friends. Thelma was a very caring and loving person and the most important thing to her was her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved to share in their accomplishments and looked forward to getting together for family gatherings. She enjoyed travel, cooking, baking, going to the casino, knitting, jigsaw puzzles, gardening, getting together with friends and just going for a Sunday drive for breakfast. A very special thank you to Dr. Nason for all his care to both Thelma and her family. Thank you as well to Dr. Racette and the wonderful staff at both Health Sciences Centre and Selkirk General. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba. Forever in our hearts, forever in our minds, we will truly miss you. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
