| SOLLA NORDAL (KRISTINNSON) August 11, 1922 January 20, 2009 Peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, Mom and Amma passed away with her family by her side at the Arborg Personal Care Home, at the age of 86 years. Remaining to forever cherish Solla's (Mom's) memory are her loving children: Louise (Wayne), Wes (Lori), Morley (Debbie); her grandchildren: Rick (Hilda), Yvette, Yvonne (Glen), Michelle (Terry), Chris, Sherri (Jonathan), Dayna and Nicole; her great-grandchildren, Ian, Deanna (Dayn), Kayla, Tiffany, Elliana, Breanna, Jeremy, Olivia, Gemma; and numerous nieces and nephews. Solla was predeceased by her loving husband Einar (October 18, 2006); her parents, Sigurdur and Indianna, and her siblings, Bjorgvin, Sigfus and Gestur. Mom was born and went to Laufus School in Geysir, where she met Dad and married July 1, 1950, residing in Arborg until her passing. Mom loved her roses and her gladiolus, she loved to do all kinds of canning and baking, collecting spoons, stamps, bottles, thimbles, and any kind of memorabilia pertaining to Elvis (her first love), and the Royal Family. She babysat for many years and loved to have children around her. She knitted Icelandic mitts and socks which all the family loved to receive and also sold them to her faithful customers. No matter the time of day she loved to visit her family and friends for coffee and enjoyed when she received company. Mom loved her family so dearly and will be so deeply missed by all of us. The family would like to thank all the Homecare Workers who looked after Mom while she was living at home. Your kindness will always be treasured. The family thanks the Staff at the Arborg Personal Care Home for their love, compassion and support given to our Mom. You were all Mom's Angels and we thank you so much. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Solla's memory to the Arborg Personal Care Home 233 St. Philips St., Arborg, MB R0C-0A0. A Memorial Service will take place at the Geysir Hall, Geysir MB. at 2:00 p.m., January 31, 2009.
