LUCINDA PARK Our beloved Mom Lucinda Park (Barker) passed away gently at Concordia Hospital Sunday, January 25, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband James Robert Park, her brother Tom Barker and great-nephew Dane Nordheim. Lucinda will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Jim (Cyndy) Park, daughter Cindy (Dave) Dowhan, her grandchildren Chris (Melissa), Kyle (Leah), Kim, Taylor and Stephanie, as well as four great-grandchildren. Lucinda is also survived by her sister, Jean Jurek, of Winnipeg, her brother William (Sarah) Barker of Ireland, and sister-in-law Sheila Barker of Winnipeg and her beloved nieces and nephews. Lucinda was born in Farnees House, Tinahely, County Wicklow, Ireland on February 23, 1930, married Jim in 1951 and moved to Winnipeg in 1953. She devoted her time to caring for her home and family and then went on to owning her own restaurants in Winnipeg and Winnipeg Beach. Lucinda was an active member of the legion, the Royal Purple and later in life, a member of the Manitoba Society of Seniors and Good Neighbours Senior Centre. She loved gardening, knitting and participating in neighbourhood activities. Mom loved her family and appreciated her friends dearly and will be so deeply missed by all of us. The family would like to thank Dr. S. Thomas and the staff at Concordia Hospital (NE3) for their dedicated compassion and support. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy. Winnipeg, MB. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Cystic Fibrosis Clinic in Winnipeg.
