MAFALDA MORRONE (nee CHIAPPETTA) It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Mafalda, into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ, on Saturday, January 24, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. Mafalda was predeceased by her husband Venanzio in 1997, after 48 years of marriage; her parents, Michele and Rosina Chiappetta and her son-in-law Jim Kostyk. She leaves to mourn her daughters: Maria Kostyk; Nelly (Craig) Simmonds; Rosanna (Dean) Thomson; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers: Tony (Olive); Edward (Gina); Mario (Maria); Ettore (Sheryl); brother-in-law Augostino (Maria) Morrone and sister-in-law Soeur Genoveffa Morrone. Mafalda was born on January 19, 1928, in Rovito, Cosenza, Italy. She immigrated to Canada with her husband and family in 1953. Our mother was a hard worker, who always put her family's needs before her own. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff of 5E and the Radiology Department at the St. Boniface Hospital for their gentle care. Also a very special thank you to Dr. Arthur Blank for his years of kindness and special care he gave to mom.
