SHANE CURTIS JACQUES (published on January 31, 2009)

SHANE CURTIS JACQUES On January 27, 2009, our beloved Shane was taken from us. Shane leaves to cherish his memory, his parents George and Dorothy; brother George (Karen); sister Deidre Lebedeff (Bob); brother Kelly; nieces Ceara, Kelsey and nephew Blake. He also leaves many beloved uncles, aunts and cousins. Shane was born October 2, 1962 and grew up in East Kildonan attending Neil Campbell, Munroe and Miles MacDonald Schools. He also received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Manitoba. Shane was a free spirit, he did it his way! Always full of fun and fun to be with. He loved to perform his front flip maneuver off the diving board at our family summer pool parties for his nieces and nephew to rate on degree of difficulty. The gifts Shane gave to all of us on special occasions; birthdays, Christmas or whatever were all impeccably chosen for the person and suited them perfectly. He loved to wrestle playfully with his nieces and nephew, and usually ended with giving them some cash (when parents and grandparents weren't watching) he simply adored all three of them. Most Sunday dinners were spent with Mazzer and Fazzer, but sometimes others. Before dinner we usually played knock poker and cribbage (with Shane usually winning most monies). Shane loved to skate the Forks ice river trail, bowling with his La Verendrye buddies and not leaving many corner pins or cash. One of his most recent dog friends, Jackson was his constant companion. The casinos of Winnipeg were another regular fun spot for Shane and the last time he spoke to his Fazzer, he was even for his efforts! Shane's travels took him to London, Europe, Mexico, Las Vegas, and had a ticket bought for Nicaragua next week! He also enjoyed having a couple cool ones at the Cactus. Golf was Shane's main thing. He had a hole in one at Pine Ridge when he was about 16 years old. He absolutely loved to play all his Manitoba courses, Hecla, Mars, Quarry, Meadows, Links at Gimli, Grand Pines, St. Boniface, Falcon, etc. A recent highlight was winning one of Pete's big tournaments from a field of about 40 of his great golf buddies. The golf games Shane played with his brothers, Kelly, George, and Fazzer on occasions ended up on the wild side . Shane just loved to visit Deidre, Bob and Ceara at their Falcon Lake campsite; golfing, fires, great BBQ, and cool ones. Happy Trails Chinook, we'll see you somewhere down the trail. Instead of flowers or donations, give someone you love a hug. In accordance with Shane's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment will follow at a later date in the family plot at St. John's Cathedral Cemetery, 135 Anderson Avenue. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.cropo.com. 586-8044
