NORMAN WILLIAM PERESKY (published on February 08, 2009)

NORMAN WILLIAM PERESKY On February 5, 2009 at Grace General Hospital, Norman died after a courageous battle with cancer, attended and lovingly cared for by his wife Shirley and son Neil. Norman was born on June 22, 1935. He will be sadly missed and remembered by wife Shirley; twin sons, Neil and Norman Jr.; daughter Heather (Chris); grandchildren, Alec, Lucas, Travis, Lisa, Michelle, Mitchell, Tony; and by his sister Pat Hayek. He was predeceased by son Timothy; sister Florence; brother Bruce and half-sister Marlene. Norman is survived by half-brothers and sisters, Sharon, Larry, Ann, Ernie, Barbara, Bill and their families. Also survived and remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Norman lived most of his life in Winnipeg and for many years was a driver for Duffy's Taxi. Norman led a very unique and adventurous life. He loved family and loved to regale family and friends with stories of his past. He could always be counted on for a tall tale or a good joke. The family wish to thank Norman's sister-in-law Marilyn Van Der Linde for her special care throughout Norman's illness. We also thank Ian Whitehead, Dr. D. Meyrowitz, and the good neighbours at Ness Avenue Legion Lodge. Thank you also to the wonderful staff at Home Care Services and Grace Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Norman's life at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 2730 Ness Ave. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
