ANNE WINNICKI (published on February 11, 2009)

ANNE WINNICKI (nee SLIVINSKI) 1919 - 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Beausejour Hospital. Anne is survived by her children Phillip (Karen), Eugene (Darlene); grandchildren Erin, Jillian, Steven, Jessica and her fiancé Chad and great-grandson Toby Dupas. Also surviving are her sister Mary Protosavage and brother Peter Slivinski with whom she had a special bond, sisters-in-law Jeannette and Steffie Slivinski. Much loved Auntie Anne will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Frank and son Cornell, her parents Casmir and Katherine, brothers Joe, Frank and Paul Slivinski, sister Leona Joss, sister-in-law Winnie Slivinski, and brother-in-law Eddie Joss. Mom was born on October 10, 1919 in Monominto and then moved with her family to Cloverleaf where she met and married Dad. They settled in Lydiatt, where together they farmed and raised a family. Mom worked as a HCA at East Gate Lodge for a number of years. She was an active member of the CWL at St. Mary's Parish. Mom was an avid reader and always interested in politics and current affairs. She loved her family unconditionally, only gave advice when asked and was always willing to listen. She also fondly loved her two dogs. We will miss her terribly. We would like to thank Dr. Campbell and the nursing staff at the Beausejour Hospital for the kind and respectful care shown to Mom during her stay. We pay tribute to our mother. Her love touched our lives and will Continue to influence us forever. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. Prayers will be said on Thursday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Beausejour. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, February 13 at 11:00 a.m., also at the church with Rev. Fr. Mark Drozniak presiding. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Beausejour District Hospital, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB ROE OCO.
