| CLARA (CHRISTIANSEN) HANSEN Peacefully at The Golden Door Geriatric Centre, Clara Hansen passed away on Monday, February 9, 2009 at the age of 96 years. Clara is survived by her son George (Edith), granddaughters Carla Castelane (Cole), Shelley (Stan Baker) and Deanna, and great grandsons Brett and Quinn Castelane. Clara was predeceased by her infant daughter Edith, her husband John in 1961, brothers Arnold, Peter and Holger and sisters Martha, Viola and Nelsena. Clara was born in Inwood, Manitoba in 1912 and moved to Steep Rock, Manitoba at a young age. As a young adult, she moved to Winnipeg. Clara was proud of her family, was an avid traveler, enjoyed needlepoint, bowling, bingo and trips to the casino. She was one of the original residents to move to Lions Place on Portage Avenue and lived there until this past October. Clara was proud of her independence well into her 90s. The family wish to thank the staff at The Golden Door for their wonderful care and support during Clara's stay. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date.
