SADIE M. IGNOT (published on February 14, 2009)

SADIE M. IGNOT 1911 - 2009 Peacefully, on February 6, 2009 at the Charleswood Care Centre, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend passed away at the great age of 98 years with family at her side. Sadie found joy in life's simple pleasures - a beautiful sunset; a bouquet of wild flowers, especially lady slippers; road trips with her late husband Joe were always an adventure whether it was an impromptu day trip exploring the countryside or a winter vacation; swimming in the ocean; summers in the Whiteshell (her favourite park even before it was named); fishing; boat rides; and absolute favourites, picking berries in the woods, tending her park-like flower gardens and faithful prayer every evening by her bedside. She was a loving and caring Mother to Doreen (Don) Payne and Gale (Greg) Powers; a fun loving, wise and adventurous Grandma and Great-Grandma to Greg (Laurie) and their children Kayla, Adriana, Kristina; Tracey (Joe) and Chloe; Nancy (Juan Carlos) Jade and Mia; Jill (Dave) and Kai; and her youngest grand- daughter Meghan. Sadie is also survived by her sisters-in-law Gladys Kallwies and Marie Reckseidler. She believed we should always look after and care for each other; live our life to the fullest; respect ourselves and others; and listen, you might learn something. Sadie was a giver and doer all her life and a very hard worker; a teacher through life experience; a doctor because of her special natural cures for many ailments (and surprisingly most of them worked); a chef (not a recipe book in the house) who made the greatest homemade soups; an advisor/consultant on many subjects; and most important, a true friend and loved one to all who knew her. As a family, we will honour Sadie's gift and our legacy every day in how we live and who we are. We extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Charleswood Care Centre, especially those who were compassionate, professional, friendly and truly cared for the residents they were responsible for. It was a joy to know you and communicate with you. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends wish, donations in Sadie's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place and a private service and celebration of a life well lived will be held at a later date. Friends will be advised. Your memory is our keepsake, With which we will never part, God has you in his keeping, We have you in our hearts. Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma, we miss you, love you and our memories of you will live on in our hearts forever. Your family. NEIL BARDAL INC. 204-949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
