ISABELLE GRACE HONKEY (published on February 14, 2009)

ISABELLE GRACE HONKEY (nee RAYMOND) November 19, 1926 February 7, 2009 Peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2009, Isabelle passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital with her daughters by her side at the age of 82 years. Remaining to forever cherish Isabelle's memory are daughter Donna Blanco (Kevin); children, Candace (Kelly); her great-grandsons, Austyn and Coalson, Brian and Nichole (Ryan); daughter Carol Novak and children, Pam, Ian, Crissa (Mark), Amber (Mike) and Buddy. She was predeceased by her husband Hilbert Honkey and her son David Honkey. Mom was born and raised in West Kildonan. Mom enjoyed helping dad carry out their caretaking duties for Sussex Realty, where she had many friends especially one special friend Nora Harmer who visited many times a week. Mom's happiest times were spent with her children and grandchildren, but most of all she enjoyed being a great grandmother to her great-grandson Austyn and was looking forward to meeting her second great-grandson Coalson. In compliance with mom's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. MOTHER You can only have one mother loving, kind and true. No other friend in all the world will be so true to you. For all her loving kindness, she asked for nothing in return. If all the world deserted us to our mother we could turn. For those of us who have a mother, treasure her with care, For you will never know her value, till you see that she's not there. To hear her voice, to see her smile, to sit and talk with her awhile, To be together in the same old way, would be our dearest wish today. The family expresses sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses of Seven Oaks Hospital for all their support and care.
