| JOHN ALLEN CRAWFORD It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of John Crawford on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 76 years. John will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his caring and dedicated wife Brenda; daughter Tara and her spouse Kevin, as well as many other family members and friends. John was born on June 21, 1932 in Oshawa, Ontario. He was a proud veteran having served in the Navy during the Korean War, where he met many true friends. He worked at Winnipeg Building and Decorating Ltd. for 18 years. After his retirement he worked with Age and Opportunity doing odd jobs for many people which he truly enjoyed. In his spare time John and Brenda enjoyed summers at Miami Beach with their family and friends. A special thank you goes to Dr. Guzman and the staff on the 4th floor at St. Boniface General Hospital. In keeping with John's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. in the Rockwood Army and Navy, Unit No. 303, located at 341 Wilton St. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
