DAVID WAYNE HOGUE (published on February 28, 2009)

DAVID WAYNE HOGUE October 15, 1953 - February 17, 2009 It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of David, our beloved brother, brother-in-law and uncle, at the age of 55. He is survived by his sister, Linda Hogue, brother-in-law, Chris Chmielewski, nephew, David Chmielewski as well as many cousins, aunts and an uncle in his extended family. His parents, Lillian and Edward Hogue, predeceased him. David was born in Winnipeg where he lived the majority of his life. A graduate of Sisler High School, his first job was with the T. Eaton Co. But his keen interest in cameras led he and a colleague to open a retail camera shop on Ellice Avenue, Watchorn Cameras Ltd. When the partnership dissolved, David obtained his certificate in Industrial Electronics from Red River Community College. He then left the city for a position with Picker International in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where he worked for four years. On returning to Winnipeg, David continued to work in technical positions with companies such as Bell and Howell, AT T, as well as small service firms. During the last ten years of his life, David enjoyed semi-retirement and was able to turn his focus to his interests in history, computers, photography, building scale models and investing. He will be greatly missed by his family. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L0K6. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
