JOHNNY ROBERTS It is with great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather Johnny Roberts at the age of 65 years on February 24, 2009 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Left to mourn his passing is his family who he was so proud of, his wife Sharon; son Jay; daughter-in-law Renee and precious granddaughter Mia. He is also survived by his mother Violet; sister Brenda-Lee and brothers, Ron (Donna) and Don. Also missing Johnny are his mother-in-law Gladys McNeice; in-laws and dear friends Maureen and Duffy Hancharyk, Colleen and Greg Wizbicki of Campbell River, BC, as well as many nieces and nephews. Wickett, his much loved dog and constant companion will miss him dearly. Johnny had many friends who will all mourn his passing, in particular his coffee buddies, Richard, Arni, Dave M., Dave J. and Phil. Johnny was predeceased by his father Johnny Sr.; sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Ed Sterz; father-in-law Bob McNeice; niece Tracy and nephew Clint. Johnny was a lifelong resident of Crescentwood, growing up on Carter Avenue, he attended Rockwood, Harrow, Earl Grey and Grant Park High School. Johnny made his living as a very skilled carpenter and generously shared those gifts with all of his family and friends. He was very proud of the family cottage he built at Belair where the family spent many happy times and he was looking forward to the completion of their dream cottage at Hillside Beach where he planned to go fishing everyday . He will live in our hearts forever. A service and gathering to celebrate Johnny's life will take place on Monday, March 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB or Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
