ELWYN BUSKELL 1921- 2009 After a lengthy illness, Elwyn Buskell passed away peacefully at the Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg on March 4, 2009. Elwyn is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy, three sons John of Calgary, Ronald (Rosemarie) of Calgary, and Arden (Alison) of Saskatoon; grandchildren Kathryn (Kevin), Jeffrey (Sarah), Andrew, Lindsay, Kyle; great-grandchildren Claire and James; brothers Wes, Walter, Hugh, Roy; sister Emily; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents David and Ida; brothers Leonard and Bertile; sisters Gladys, Beatrice, Mildred. Dad was born and raised in the Teulon area. He was part of the Canadian Armed Forces in the Second World War. He married Dorothy in 1946 and he built his own home in 1948 which he lived in until his passing. In the early 1960s he built his cottage in Locke Bay, ON where he had many memories of fishing and outdoor activities. He was a member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church for many years and a member of the St. James Legion. After running his own plumbing business and 18 years of employment with the CPR Weston Shops he retired in 1986. He enjoyed his retirement with family and friends and his passions for fishing, golf, and gardening. He was particularly proud of his two hole in one's after age 75. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Ave, Winnipeg. Interment to follow at Windsor Cemetery, Teulon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2K 0V9 or a charity of one's choice.
