THERESIA JOHANNA LANGELER (published on March 23, 2009)

THERESIA JOHANNA LANGELER Peacefully, on Thursday, March 19, 2009 Theresia Johanna Langeler (Ruyters) passed away. Theresia was predeceased by her husband Derk, her daughter Ludina and granddaughter Tara; her parents Alphons and Jacoba Ruyters, her brother Alphons and her sister Nel. She is survived by her son Martin (Kim), daughters Theresa (Bob) Crowe and Evelyn (Jim) Norris; grandchildren Martina (Tony), Matthew, Robert, Jeffrey, Lisa, Laura and Jordan; great-grandchildren Callum and Toren; her brother Chris (Ruby) of Dunedin, NZ and many nieces and nephews. Mom, the youngest of four children, was born August 20, 1925 in Tilberg, Netherlands. At a young age the family moved to Haarlem, Netherlands. After losing her mother at an early age, Mom and her sister took over the care of the household, looking after their father and two brothers. Mom and Dad were married on August 9, 1950 and immigrated to Canada in April 1952. Mom and Dad loved to garden, the fruits of their labour were shared by all of us. Mom loved to sew, knit and crochet and we were all privileged to have received pieces that she had made. Spur of the moment drives were a favorite of Mom and Dad's, they would get into their car, pick a direction and see where it would take them (back roads were a personal favorite). Viewing will take place at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. (across from Brookside Cemetery) from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26. Memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 27 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota St. Mom was a great supporter of St. Amant Centre in memory of her granddaughter Tara. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Amant Centre, 440 River Rd., Winnipeg, MB, R2M 3Z9. NEIL BARDAL INC. (204) 949-2200
