JEAN FANSHAW (published on March 24, 2009)

JEAN FANSHAW (nee MORRISON) April 4, 1912 - March 17, 2009 Peacefully on March 19, 2009 Jean Fanshaw aged 96 years, beloved widow of Bert passed away at the Bethania Personal Care Home. Born in Hazelridge on April 4, 1912 to George and Elizabeth Morrison, she was predeceased by her husband Bert (Herbert James) on December 31, 1956. Mom was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Lawrence (Erma) Russell, Harold Roy and Wilford and brother-in-law Albert Salter, sisters and their spouses Gertrude (Jack) Roberts, Lottie (Hugh) Nettleton and Violet (Howard) Wright. Mom leaves to mourn her passing sister Viola Salter, daughters Betty Moore and Hazel (Robert) Bowker and son James (Lorraine) Fanshaw; son-in-law Douglas Moore as well as eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mom and dad were married on October 16, 1935 in the Hazelridge United Church. They farmed at Deloraine, and Pratt before finally moving to Rossmore Avenue in West St. Paul. Mom worked in Eaton's Bakeshop for 29 years before retiring and moved to West Kildonan and finally to an apartment on Henderson Highway. The family would like to thank the staff at the Bethania for all their care and compassion shown our mom for the past seven years. A memorial service will be held at the Bethania Personal Care Home on Wednesday, March 25 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethania Personal Care Home, 1045 Concordia Avenue, R2K 2M6.
