CHARLIE PIDSTAWKA (published on April 04, 2009)

CHARLIE PIDSTAWKA April 10, 1913 - March 31, 2009 After living a long and healthy life, Charlie passed on to be with the Lord on March 31 at the age of 95 years. He was predeceased by his wife Rose; brothers, Frank and Maurice; and sister Jean Kusyk. He leaves behind to mourn his loving son Robert (Irene); daughter Judy Yanicki (Louis); grandchildren, Shelley (Glenn), Debbie (Jim), Darlene Sutyla (Rene), Lorrie and Tim (Kim); seven great-grandchildren, Tom, Todd, Amber, Tyler, Nicole, Kaylee and Chase. His sisters, Joyce Leskiw (Mike) and Mary Melnyk. He was known for his skills in carpentry and built the chapel at Camp Arnes. He enjoyed his grandchildren and did many things for them, like teaching them to drive trucks and tractors before they could touch the pedals. The grandchildren always looked forward to spending their time at the farm to see Baba and Gigi, where they were taught about farming and how to milk cows. Pallbearers are Tim Yanicki, Tom Pidstawka, Rene Sutyla, Donny Kusyk, Ronnie Abuda, Chris Leskiw. Prayers will take place Sunday, April 5 at 7:00 p.m. at Arborg MacKenzie Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 6 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Silver. Interment to follow at Silver Cemetery. The family thanks the doctors and nurses at the Arborg Personal Care Home for their compassion at our time of need.
