RENE JACOB BERENS (DIAMOND AND SKUNKER) It is with great sadness that we annouce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle, cousin, father, nephew and friend on April 1, 2009, with his family by his side at the age of 44 years. Rene was born in Berens River, MB, on March 24, 1965 and moved to Winnipeg with his family in 1971. Rene was predeceased by his mother, Andrena Berens; father William Bear and nephew Ernest Berens Jr. He leaves to mourn his brothers, Mike (Darlene), Ernest (Erica), Wayne (Brenda); sisters, Darlene (Carl), Marlene (Lloyd), Emily (George), Claudette, Tammy (Stan); son Dino; special nieces, Crystal, Jessie, Sam. Special aunts, Harriet Bittern, Madeline Boulanger, Virginia McKay; special cousins Rosie Hodgins and Judy Chartrand, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Rene was cherished and loved by many. He enjoyed and loved his ghetto blasters, music, cards and sports. Rene loved making everyone laugh with his wonderful sense of humor. He loved all children, cleaning, shopping at Meme's Store and giving his family humorous nicknames. Rene was a great man and always put a smile on everyone's face. Prayers and wake services will be held at Deliverance Centre, 1813 Selkirk Avenue on Saturday, April 4, 2009 and Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Deliverance Centre Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. Active pallbearers are, Donald Bittern, Sydney Mckay, Virgil Hodgins, Mikey Berens, Shaye Arnaut, William Berens, Justin Berens, Perry Baptiste. Honorary pallbearers are, Lloyd Genialle, George Favel, Carl Whiteway, Tony Mayham, Robert Ross, Lorne Hodgins, Farron Hodgins. Cross Bearer Marlene Genialle.
