| THERESE RAINVILLE (ROCAN) (nee MADEC) 1913 - 2009 Mom was born in Mariapolis, MB. As a young child, she and her family lived in France, and returned to Canada when she was 12 years old. She passed away peacefully on April 1, 2009 at Centre Taché. Thérèse was predeceased by her first husband, Yves Rocan, and her second husband, Omer Rainville. She was also predeceased by her son, Roger Rocan, four sisters and two brothers as well as numerous in-laws in both the Rocan and Madec families. Mom is survived by her daughters: Doreen (Larry Lyle) and Anita (Ron Perron) and one son Yvan Rocan (Kathy). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Joanne (Rick) Dingwall, Rick (Donna) Lyle, Kim Capner, Doug (Patti) Lyle, Robert (Barb) Lyle, Michael (Melanie) Lyle, Jeff (Tracey) Perron, Jocelyn (Laura) Perron, and Joel Perron, as well as numerous great-grandchildren. Mom worked hard all her life whether it was operating a restaurant in Somerset, helping at the Somerset Creamery, operating a boarding house, being a midwife, working at The Bay etc. She gave her children a wonderful work ethic. Until she had a stroke at the age of 89, she volunteered at the Resource Centre in St. Boniface and shopped for her old ladies (many of them younger than she was). She loved children and started a nursing home in Somerset and helped birth almost an entire generation there. At the age of 65, she started a day care. Many of these children kept in touch with her to this day. Mom did not only work, however. She loved to play cards (especially poker) and bingo and was an ardent curling fan. She was in excellent shape and walked each day until her stroke and she loved to dance. Mom was a proud member of Les Filles d'Isabelle and the Kiwanis Club. She also travelled to Europe and throughout Canada and the USA. Funeral mass will take place at Holy Cross Church, 252 Dubuc Street, on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation has occurred and interment will take place this summer.
