HEATHER MCCOLL (published on April 04, 2009)

HEATHER MCCOLL After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Heather McColl on March 30, 2009. Heather was born in Winnipeg on October 27, 1955. She was predeceased by her father Thomas in 1989. Heather is survived and will be remembered with love by her mom Dorothy; her husband Andre Trudeau; her brother Greg (Kathy); her in-laws, Guy Trudeau (Marie), Monique Trudeau, Keith Trudeau (Nancy), and her nieces and nephews, Ashley, Colin, Sean, Jean-Guy, Natalie, Denelle, David, Genevieve and Derique. Heather grew up in North Kildonan and graduated from River East Collegiate in 1973. While attending high school she worked at Penners and Co-op grocery stores. After completing high school she continued to pursue her education, completing the Secretarial Science program at Red River Community College. Following this she began her 33 year career with the Federal Government. Heather started at Transport Canada and later accepted a position with Parks Canada in Victoria BC. In 1987 she successfully completed the Certified Management Accounting program. Heather then transferred to Calgary for a few years and returned to Winnipeg to be closer to her family. Heather continued working for Parks Canada until 2007 and, for the last two years, she worked for the Canada Border Services Agency. Heather will always be remembered for her generous and caring nature. She was a devoted daughter and wife, and loved to spend time with her family and friends. She loved animals, especially her dogs Sparky and Rusty, and her cat Cody. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed travelling. Heather loved to spend time at the cottage with her beloved husband Andre and her family and friends. She always made everyone feel welcome. The family would like to give special thanks to the caring staff at CancerCare Manitoba and the Health Sciences Centre. Services will be held at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Highway, Winnipeg on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to CancerCare Manitoba, ON 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg R3E 0V9; or Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg R3T 0R3.
