KATHARINA (KATHY) KOKOSCHKE (published on April 11, 2009)
KATHARINA (KATHY) KOKOSCHKE (née PROHASKA) December 2, 1941 - April 6, 2009 Suddenly, on April 6, our beloved Kathy, while celebrating with family in Winnipeg, was called home by the Lord. She leaves to mourn in her passing, her husband of 43 years Adolf; daughters, Karina in Kamloops and Marika of Taber, Alberta; grandsons, Curtis Heagy, Gunnar and Hunter Abbott of Kamloops, and in Winnipeg, sister Anne and brothers, Bill, John and Joe. Born in Kutina, Croatia, as one of eight, her family fled to Austria during the last world war and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1953. Completing her education in St. Joseph's Catholic Private School and while working for a Viennese doctor in Winnipeg, a whirlwind three-day romance in 1966 led to marriage, a family and to the back-woods of the British Columbia's Nass Valley. As the backbone of her family, Kathy moved with her, by-then fully domesticated husband to Terrace and then to Clearwater in 1985. Her passion for music and dancing complemented her husband's and formed the basis for a wide circle of friends. Kathy with her dry, direct humour will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral Service was held on Thursday, April 9 at 1:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment will be in Clearwater, BC. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044 |
