JEFFREY ALFRED REIMANN (published on April 11, 2009)

JEFFREY ALFRED REIMANN Mr. Jeffrey Alfred Reimann, aged 52 years of Beausejour, Manitoba, dearly beloved husband of Cindy Reimann passed away suddenly on April 1, 2009 at his home. Jeff will always be remembered as a caring, giving, highly energetic and spirited man in various roles, such as Man on the Street while working as a reporter/photographer for the Beausejour Beaver newspaper; as starting The Store health food store in Beausejour; helping to start the Brokenhead River Review newspaper and more recently writing for The Clipper Weekly. His fondness of journalism brought him recognition awards for his work. Jeff gave effortlessly of himself to those he loved and was extremely proud of his three children Jessica, Nicholas and Jonathon; his two stepchildren Audrey and Andrew; and two grandsons Kaleb and Zackery. He lived each day bending over backwards to be the best son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and nephew that a man with such a big heart as his could be. His passions over the years saw him playing keyboard in several bands. As a musician for 20 years, music was part of what made him the multi-talented individual he was. He looked forward to summertime and gardening, taking great care and pride in picking his favorite flowers from the yard to keep the house warmly lit with fresh fragrance and the beauty of colorful life. His knowledge of anything and everything always seemed to amaze those around him as he could speak on just about any topic, being the worldly man he was. Jeff's comical yet intellectual being, his choice of words and the animated way he expressed himself, always seemed to bring a chuckle from those around him. He found a way to make his wife Cindy laugh each and every day while bringing an abundance of warmth and love into their lives. He never failed to extend his warm, loving arms and kind words to his family every moment he could. In particular, Jeff enjoyed precious time with his mother Dorothy on a daily basis. Being surrounded by family was what made Jeff happiest. He took every opportunity to see his family and made his weekly father-son phone calls to Nick and Jon. This delighted him, completing his week, feeling fully satisfied that he got his dose of being caught up in his proud fatherly role and feeling that everything was right with the world. He loved to spend time teaching his grandson to play chess, to the point where Kaleb learned the strategy well enough to outplay his grandpa. Spending time babysitting his grandson Zackery brought a sparkle to Jeff's eye, as it always made his day. Jeff was proud of how strong his daughter Jessica is and he enjoyed the father-daughter times they shared. With his love to talk, Jeff got pleasure from spending many hours inspired by conversation with his stepdaughter Audrey and stepson Andrew. The special person he was could be seen as he volunteered his time at the local food bank as Jeff liked helping those less fortunate than he was. As Jeff lived each day, challenged with 25 years of diabetes and the last two years of coping with kidney disease, he never failed to bend over backwards putting others' needs first. He always had a kind comforting word for those he loved, even when he was in discomfort himself, heroically pushing to make the best of each day. Jeff is survived by his mother Dorothy of Beausejour; loving wife Cindy; daughter Jessica, friend Steve and grandson Kaleb of Beausejour; son Nicholas wife Cindy and grandson Zackery of Steinbach; son Jonathon of Winnipeg; stepdaughter Audrey Orr and friend James of Winnipeg; stepson Andrew Orr and friend Tish of Winnipeg; sister Louise Grapentine, husband Jim and niece Melissa of Winnipeg; brother David, wife Colleen and nephews, Erik, Jean-Paul, and David of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his father Wolfe Reimann in 1998. In keeping with Jeff's wishes, cremation and a private family service was held on Saturday, April 4, 2009.
