ORVILLE RALPH GUNN (published on April 11, 2009)

ORVILLE RALPH GUNN Peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the Grace Hospital, Ralph Gunn passed away with his loving wife and best friend Dana at his side. Ralph was born in Winnipeg on September 1, 1938 to the late Vera and Ralph Gunn. Ralph is also survived by his loving son and daughter-in-law Shane and Sherri; grandchildren, Travis, Wade and Hayden. He will be greatly missed by his uncle Ernie (June) Capri; mother-in-law Mable Dick; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Arlene and Don Hodgins and their family and by his cousins and their families, Colleen (Brian) Foley, Richard (Phyllis) Capri, Carl Wildeman, Craig (Gail) Capri, Wayne Capri, Ramon (Wendy) Capri and Bonnie (Erwin) Weidemann. Ralph was a loving and devoted son, husband, grandfather, cousin and friend. He retired at age 55 from the City of Winnipeg, Works and Operations Department and he enjoyed his retirement to the fullest. Ralph and Dana spent their summers at the lake and in the winter they travelled to their favourite spot Isla Mujeres, Mexico where they made many wonderful friends. Ralph enjoyed going for coffee with his girls Mary and Fern. His family would like to thank the staff at Grace Emergency and to Kim Swanson for her compassion and care during his last hospital stay. They would also like to thank Arlene Hodgins, Colleen and Brian Foley and Dick and Fern Dow for their support through this difficult time. At Ralph's request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place on April 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at McClure Place, 533 Greenwood Place, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
