KATHERINE (KATIE) PEARCE (published on April 11, 2009)

KATHERINE (KATIE) PEARCE 1916 - 2009 Our family sadly announces the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Misericordia Place. Katie was born and raised in Cando, SK. After marrying Stephen Pearce in 1938, they farmed in the Ibstone district and moved to Winnipeg in 1940. Katie was a long time employee of The Bay and in retirement enjoyed many years with her family. She and her husband enjoyed many vacations together during their retirement. Mom's greatest pleasure was bowling in the Thursday afternoon league at Polo Park. She was predeceased by her husband Stephen in 2000 and a son Orest in 1959. She was also predeceased by her brothers Mike, Nick, Sid, John, Dan and sisters Polly Zadko, Vera Krivoshein and Elizabeth Benson. Katie was a wonderful mother to Marie Primmett (Roy) of Calgary, AB; Doris Brooke (Warren) of London, ON; and David Pearce (Gayle) of Calgary, AB. Grandmother to Jeffrey Primmett (Stacey); Brett and Jada Pearce of Calgary, AB; Allison Kennedy (Patrick); David Primmett of Toronto, ON; and Lindsay Brooke of Colorado Springs, CO. Great-grandmother to Sabree Pearce-Siega, Samantha Primmett and Eli Kennedy. Katie is also survived by brothers Bruce Tetarenko (Rose) of Prince Albert, SK; Bob Trent (Eunice) of St. Albert, AB; Leonard Tetarenko (Alma) of Langley, BC, George Tetarenko (Marie) of Vernon, BC and many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank Margaret Kruschel whom Mom considered one of her daughters. She will always be remembered as a loving, giving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A celebration of her life will be held at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway Ave., Winnipeg, MB on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with viewing at 12:00 noon. Interment in Thomson In the Park . In lieu of flowers the family requests that all memorials to Mother be sent to Misericordia Place, 44 Furby Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2A1 for their Memorial Garden, or to the charity of their choice. Mom, the laughter and memories we shared will fill our lives forever. Until we meet again, have a wonderful journey.
