DENIS RICHARD (RICK) DONNELLY (published on April 11, 2009)

DENIS RICHARD (RICK) DONNELLY (MAURICE (MO) LAROCQUE) Peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 Rick passed away at the age of 53 years. Mo is predeceased by his grandparents, his father Roméo Larocque, his niece Dianne Garand and his brother Denis Larocque. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Thérèse Demontigny; two sisters Simone (Ed) and Julie; his special friend Christine (her children Samantha and Alex); his son Matty (Tiffany); Matty's mother Estelle (Lonnie) as well as many nieces and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by his dog Mookey. Mo will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his enjoyment of family gatherings and card playing, his golf games with Frank and one of his favourite places to be Nutimick Lake where he made lots of happy memories. He enjoyed the smiles on people's faces, and enjoyed the company of his great-niece, Taylor. Mo was a true person, said exactly how he felt and did exactly what he wanted to do. He lived his life according to his own beliefs and although he was strong minded, he still showed love and thoughtfulness to his family and friends. Known as many aliases, a few of the favourites were Tricky Ricky and Born Hungry . We would like to give a special thanks to Christine who took extraordinary care of Mo during his struggle with cancer and to Annette and Simone for all their help and support; as well as a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface Hospital. We would like to give a special thanks to Mo's nurse Tamara who showed true compassion for Mo during his hardships. Funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13 at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 780 Archibald Street. Viewing will take place at 12:30 p.m. until time of service. Pallbearers will be Matty Gibbons, Randy Garand, Raymond St. Onge, Frank Bloch, Cody Garand, and Lance Garand. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rick's name to the CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 9Z9.
