K. LORRAINE DAVIS (published on April 18, 2009)

K. LORRAINE DAVIS (nee Johannson) Passed away April 10, 2009 quietly in hospital after a short illness. Lorrie was born an only child on September 9, 1924 in Winnipeg, MB to Walter and Kristin Johannson. Though born a Canadian, she wore her Icelandic heritage with great pride. She married Eric R. Davis in Winnipeg on May 22, 1954. They and their four children lived across Canada, in Kirkland Lake, Sudbury, St. Johns, Montreal and Vancouver; and for a brief period in Liberia before settling for the last 38 years in the Town of Mount Royal, PQ. Lorrie's passion was her husband, family and friends. She and Eric created a home that was a place of warmth, laughter, intellect and lively conversation. It was a place of welcome where everyone became a family member. She was preceded in death by her husband Eric and is survived by her four children and their spouses: Gary (Wendy), New York, Deborah (Roger St. Louis), Calgary, Margot, Vancouver and Gaynoll (Luigi Di Filippo), Montreal. She was blessed with four grandchildren whom she adored: Julia, Natalie, Robert and Leigh. A memorial service was held in Montreal. Lorrie requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to The Eric and Lorraine Davis Memorial Award in Applied Science, Queen's University in Kingston, ON. (613) 533-6000 ext. 78085.
