MARGARET INGIBJORG PYPER (published on April 18, 2009)

MARGARET INGIBJORG PYPER (nee HALFDANSSON) 1914 - 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great- grandmother at Pembina Place Personal Care Home on April 14, 2009 at the age of 94. Margaret was born in Riverton, MB on October 24, 1914, the daughter of Valdimar and Elin Halfdansson. Margaret married James Pyper on December 16, 1936. They lived a happy and enjoyable life, and made many strong friendships during their time together. They spent their years together in Decker, Morden and Winnipeg, as well as ten wonderful and happy years in Atikokan, ON. In 1980 Margaret became one of the first residents of Bethel Place and enjoyed 26 years there. In July 2007, she moved to Pembina Place Personal Care Home. Margaret loved spending time with her family and was a strong influence in the lives of her grandchildren. Margaret enjoyed watching curling, knitting and going to bingo. Margaret was proud to be an auxiliary member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Eastern Star. She leaves to cherish her memory Jim (Carol) Pyper, Gerald (Sandra) Pyper, Elaine (Bob) Hunt, grandchildren Kim (Steve) Anderson, Kerri (Corey) Pelland, Kristin (Ryan) Mitchell, Larissa (Daryl) Ziliniski, Nicole (Jason) Mytrunec, James Pyper, and Katrina Pyper (Chris), and great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Brandon, Tyler, Niklas, Sydney, Hadley, Connor, Karlee, Lucas, Aiden and Ava. Margaret was predeceased by her husband James, her sister Solveig (Dederick), and brothers Pall and Halfdan (Sveinn'). The family would like to thank the many friends who visited Margaret and extended their love and concern for her over the years. To the staff of Pembina Place, thank you for your compassionate care and for being such a great comfort to our family. TO LOVE A MOM To love a Mom and then to part, Is the greatest trial to the human heart. Years of striving, little of play, Loving, giving, the whole of the way. A cherished smile, a heart of gold, To the dearest Mother, the world could hold. Happy memories, fond and true, From us who thought the world of you. Beautiful memories are treasures ever, Of happy days when we were together. With aching hearts we whisper low, BLESS you MOM, we'll miss you so. Father in Heaven hear our prayers, Guard our Mother with tender care. Be a good Shepherd, don't leave her alone, Love her as we loved her when she was at home. A celebration of Margaret's life will be held on Monday April 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Margaret's memory can be made to a charity of your choice.
