MOLLY OLSON (published on April 18, 2009)



MOLLY OLSON (nee DECKER) Peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the Eriksdale Personal Care Home, Molly Olson, formerly of Gypsumville, passed away at the age of 94 years. Molly was born at home near Gypsumville, Manitoba on February 16, 1915 and was the third of nine children born to Paul and Julianna Decker. In 1947 she moved to Ontario and worked for the Kimberley Clark Lumber Company as a cook. There she met and later married Ed Olson on April 3, 1954. Molly will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. She leaves to cherish her memory, two brothers, Bruno Decker of Gypsumville, Ervin (Marie) Decker of St. Martin, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ed on June 30, 1981, her parents Paul and Julianna Decker; brothers, Emil, Otto and Ernest; sisters, Ella Hillyer, Wilhelmine Gillies, and Hildagard Zahorodny; sister-in-law Dorothy Decker; brothers-in-law Arthur Hillyer, Woodrow Gillies, Nickolas Zahorodny, and great-nephew, Victor Decker. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Martin Community Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow in the Gypsumville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Arnold Hillyer, Joe Decker, Danny Decker, Archie Decker, Doug Decker and Jim Decker. Special thanks to the staff of the Eriksdale Personal Care Home for the wonderful care and friendship they gave Molly.
