DOLORES BARON Dolores Baron (nee Berard) aged 75 passed away peacefully at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre on April 15, 2009. Dolores is lovingly remembered by her two daughters Linda Baron of Dauphin, MB and Lori-Anne (Daryl) Rusk of St. Andrews, MB, grandchildren Roby Baron, Trevor and Jeremy Rusk, her sister Lorraine (Ervin) Chezick of Selkirk, brother-in-law Henri Berard and sister-in-law Laurie Berard of St. Pierre; nephew Lloyd (Darlene) Chezick and niece Sandra (Ted) Chezick of Selkirk, MB, nephews Marc (Nicole) Berard of Quebec, and Robert (Mona) Berard of St. Pierre, nephews Claude (Louise) Berard and Mike Berard and niece Monique Berard of Winnipeg, brother-in-law Merv (Audrey) Baron of Winnipeg and sister-in-law Diane (Norm) Chychota of Taber, AB; nephews John (Jana) and Mike (Debbie) Baron; niece Leora (Tony) Lisi of Winnipeg and nieces Karen and Marilyn Chychota of Calgary, AB; and special friends Simone and Adelard Ouimet of Dauphin. Dolores was predeceased by her parents Theodore (Titou) and Zepherine (Ma Tante) Berard, her loving husband of 51 years William (Bill) Baron, sisters Terry and Marguerite Berard, brother Charlie Berard, niece Dianne and nephew Danny Berard, and sister-in-law Gloria Baron. Dolores was born on her parents homestead in Aubigny, Manitoba on January 23, 1934. She was raised on the family farm and attended the local school house in Aubigny. Dolores moved to Winnipeg where she began her nursing profession taking her LPN training at St. Boniface Hospital. Dolores met Bill in Winnipeg and were married on August 17, 1957. Their first child Linda was born in the summer of 1961. The family moved to Dauphin in 1965 where Dolores worked at the family business operating the Towers Hotel. Their second daughter Lori-Anne was born in the spring of 1968. Dolores raised her family and worked full time as a nurse at St. Paul's Nursing Home up to her retirement in 1998. Dolores enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was their biggest fan in all of their many activities and sports. Dolores really enjoyed life always seeing the best in people, her home was always open to family and friends. She had a positive attitude where everyone that met her embraced the happy glow of her smile. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Viator's Roman Catholic Church and was a proud member of the Catholic Women's League. Mom was known for her bright spirit - her infectious smile and striking red hair made her stand out from the rest. Funeral services for Dolores will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Viator's Roman Catholic Church in Dauphin with the Father Yolando Gamallo officiating. Interment in the Riverside Cemetery will follow the service. Prayers will be held on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Viator's Roman Catholic Church, with a Rosary offered at 6:30 p.m. led by the Catholic Womens League. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Dolores to the Manitoba Lung Association. Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Services are in care of the arrangements, (204) 638-4110.
