RANDY WIEBE (published on April 22, 2009)

RANDY WIEBE 1956 to 2009 On Saturday, April 18th during an afternoon doubles match, despite valiant efforts by clubmates, Randy met an abrupt and unexpected death. Randy will be missed by wife Karen Yamada, daughter Bryn, son Burke, sisters Sherry and Jacquie, mother Helen, in-laws Fume and Betty Yamada and extended family members. Maintaining connections and relationships with people were a daily priority to Randy and a legacy of unique memories remains with all who grieve his passing. He was a good friend and favourite to many. A time-honoured Leafs and Celtics fan, his favourite players were his children. A dignified arm chair coach in tacit pursuit of a single digit handicap, Randy nurtured family ties and was our leader in fun. Randy enjoyed the camaraderie at the Winnipeg Squash Racquet Club, Southwood Golf and Country Club and at Qualico. Cremation has occurred. A graveside service will be on Friday, May 15 at 3:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Boulevard. Celebration to follow at the Winnipeg Squash Racquet Club at 275 Stradbrook Avenue. Donations in Randy's memory to the University of Manitoba Golf Team, 211-200 Main Street, R3C 4M2 or: www.heartandstroke.com GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 982-7550
