GORDON WILLIAM DAHLIN Suddenly on April 19, 2009, Gordon passed away at home at the age of 79. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 43 years, Constance, daughters Elizabeth Dahlin and Kathleen (Tim) Schwartz, and grandsons Andrew and Daniel. He will also be missed by his sister Dagmar DeReuck, niece Norma (Barrie) Needham, sister-in-law Ruby, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Hjalmer and Mathida, and three brothers Nels, Gust, and Gunnar. Gordon was born in Winnipeg in 1930. He spent his childhood in Edrans, MB before returning to Winnipeg at age 13, and eventually settling for the past 40 years in St. Vital. He worked at Warnock Hersey Professional Services Ltd. From 1948 to 1991, finishing his career as Chief Laboratory Supervisor as well as primary Ultrasonic Technician and Assayer. In his early years, he played banjo in the family dance band which performed in the areas near Edrans, then Whitemouth, MB. In 1957, Gordon built his beloved cottage at Betula Lake in the Whiteshell Provincial Park. He spent his time there fishing, hunting, berry picking and hiking. After his retirement, he was able to spend more time on his many hobbies including gardening, photography, crossword puzzles, music, and his newest interest, computers, which began teaching himself at the age of 75.
