ALEXANDER WATT WATSON (published on April 29, 2009)

ALEXANDER WATT WATSON January 5, 1916 - April 25, 2009 At the age of 93 years at Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home. Alex was predeceased by his beloved wife Anne and his two brothers William and Adam. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons Bill and Sandy (Debbie), grandsons Rob and Andrew, and daughter Deborah (Robert) Brooks. Dad was born and raised in Winnipeg apart from a brief period when his family returned to Scotland in 1925 to care for an ailing family member. During The Second World War he served as an aircraft mechanic. He met and married the lovely Anna Dora Mantie in 1949. After the war he worked as a plumber before becoming a Building Inspector with the City in 1952. Dad enjoyed alley bowling, curling, and lawn bowling. He and Mom were well known in national lawn bowling, representing Manitoba many times over the years. After Dad's retirement in 1981, he and Mom enjoyed travelling and visiting with his brothers in Florida, California and Hawaii. He also enjoyed watching his two grandsons grow up into fine young men. Dad missed Mom very much after her passing in 1992 and will find peace in their reunion after all these years. We wish to thank the staff at the Meadowood Manor for all the kindness, care and friendship they've shared with us and Dad over the past seven years. Cremation has been arranged and Alex's remains will be placed next to Anne at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home or to a charity of your choice. Knysh Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements 582-0973.
