OLGA WOZNIAK (published on April 29, 2009)

OLGA WOZNIAK (nee WEL) It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my mother Olga Wozniak on Saturday, April 25, 2009. Olga was predeceased by her beloved parents Anna (Nosal) and Peter Wel; her brother John Wel; her husbands Stanley Malcheski and later Michael Wozniak. She leaves to mourn her daughter Sandra Malcheski, friends and cousins, Rose and Paul Klowak; Olga (Nosal) and John Kylyk; Sylvia (Wel) and Peter Pastyr from Toronto; Lesia (Wel) and Vernon Wright from Florida; Elizabeth (Wel) Robertson and Max from Toronto; Patricia (Malcheski) Overbey from Michigan; Godson Greg Karan from BC; sister Jocelyn Karan and then there is her daily companion Princess (Chihuahua / Terrier). They were inseparable during the days. Princess was always on Baba's lap. The only thing that would make her move were the words Baba's gotta go bathroom (which Princess would allow). Mom came to Canada in 1935 from Pawliw in Western Ukraine with her mother and brother to join their father who immigrated in 1928. She quickly made many friends. Mom loved to embroider and to care for her flower garden. She also made the best varynyky and holobtsi, always adding her own special ingredients. Special thanks to the team at Golden Door Personal Care Home for your kindness, compassion and understanding. In keeping with Mom's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1 in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. with the reception to follow. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E. J. COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald St. 253-5086
