MARY CHERVINSKI (published on May 02, 2009)

MARY CHERVINSKI At the age of 91 years, Mary passed away peacefully at Holy Family Nursing Home with her family at her side. Mary is survived by her daughter Joan and son-in-law Jim. Granddaughter Melanie (Mike), grandsons David (Julia) and Darren (Jodi) and great-grandson Broden. Sisters Nettie and Doris and nieces Andrea, Carol and Janet (Marcel). She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1990, her parents Annie and Nicolas and brother Jack. Mary grew up in Sinclair, MB., the eldest daughter of Annie and Nicolas Bodnar. She married Peter in 1940. Peter's job took them to numerous towns in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. They ended up in Winnipeg where they retired. Mary loved dancing when she was young and enjoyed attending dances in the Sinclair Hall. Later in life she enjoyed collecting recipes and playing bingo. The last four years she spent at Holy Family Nursing Home where she received excellent care. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2009 at Thomson Funeral Home with Rev. Dawn Ballantine Dickson officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire a donation can be made to Holy Family Nursing Home (St. John's Ward) or to the Winnipeg Humane Society. At last you've found a home Mother, Where peace and love abounds, A quiet place in Heaven, With God and angels round, Your flight is over Mother, And now your soul's at rest, For we know that God will comfort you, As He holds you to His breast, You'll always live within our hearts, And memories will hold you dear, God bless you Mom and rest in peace, As we shed our silent tears, We will meet again.
