LINNEA HOWE (published on May 02, 2009)

LINNEA HOWE (BECKMAN) 1921 - 2009 On April 25, 2009 at the Red River Place in Selkirk, MB, Linnea Howe peacefully passed away. Linnea (Lily) was born at home and raised in the Clydebank District in the RM of Eriksdale. As a young adult after working on the farm, she was able to take her L.P.N. nurse's training at Morden. This led her into a long career of nursing working mainly at the Grace Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. Lily was a very independent individual who loved gardening, especially planting trees and flowers. Music, handiwork and her dogs gave her much pleasure. Her nieces and nephews will long remember her spunk, generosity and caring. She is survived by her brother Philip (Joyce); sister-in-law Irene; nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her parents Dora and Andrew; her brothers, Erling (Mildred), Ted (Verna); nephew Ed Beckman and husbands Art Ross and Jack Howe. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2009 in the Eriksdale Cemetery with Melanie Kauppila officiating. The family wishes to thank the staff of Red River Place for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Linnea over the last 13 years. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, memorial donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOME Ashern - Lundar 1-204-768-2072 1-866-323-3593
