DORIS MAY ANDREWS Peacefully at her home in Brandon, Mom passed away. She was predeceased by her husbands Carl Eide, Don Andrews; her parents; sisters Irene and Joan; brother Jack; son-in-law Herb Roehl. They were blessed with seven children, Palma (Brian Schnell) Roehl, Ken Eide, Margaret (Arthur) Lazier, Karla Eide, Chris Eide, Paul Eide, Sam Eide; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mom was one of four children born to John and Bertha Strike in Dauphin, MB. She attended school in Beild, MB where she received her grade eight and later traveled to Winnipeg where she trained at Domestic School. She met our dad (Carl Eide) in Kenora, ON. They were married and after dad came back from the Second World War they moved to Winnipeg. In 1975 she married Don Andrews and was blessed again with a ready made daughter Shirley (Brian) Lucier. During her lifetime, Mom enjoyed being a Girl Guide and Brownie Leader. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing and fishing. Mom suffered a stroke in 1993 and another in February 2009. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. with viewing taking place one half hour prior to the service at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Honorary pallbearer will be Ken Saw.
