MICHAEL MOSKAL (published on May 09, 2009)

MICHAEL MOSKAL January 2, 1917- May 4, 2009 At Seven Oaks Hospital with family present on Monday, May 4, 2009, Michael passed over, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, at the age of 92 years. He is survived by two sons, Michael Raymond and Robert John, seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Michael also leaves to mourn his passing his brother Frank (Elsie), his sister Helen, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends. With his wife Olga, Dad worked earnestly all his life to raise and support his family. In his younger years he distinguished himself as a superlative soccer player for the Winnipeg Royals, playing centre half, and was invited to play professional ball in England. Instead, he remained in Winnipeg to help sustain family, ultimately working as a painter, then gardener, until his retirement at age 65. With generous disposition Dad gave tirelessly of himself to family and friends. He especially enjoyed singing to any audience and had a wonderfully innate sense of rhythm on the dance floor. He was proud of his long time affiliation with AA, his 50+ years fishing as an original of Arlington Sports Club, and the Day Program at the Luther Home. His demeanour was quiet and thoughtful, his perceptions acute, and he loved - and was beloved by - all children. The family thanks the medical staff at Seven Oaks Hospital and Home Care personnel for their earnest endeavours on Dad's behalf. Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 11 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Interment at a later date. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
