BILL DZOGAN November 20, 1922 - May 7, 2009 With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Bill Dzogan on May 7, 2009 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 86. Remaining to forever cherish Bill's memory is his loving wife Jean, whom he was married to for 62 years. He will be dearly missed by his daughter Linda and son-in-law George Penner and grandsons, Jason and Craig. He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Anna Dzogan and brother John. Bill came over to Canada as a young boy and grew up in the Winnipeg area. When he was 18 he joined the Canadian Army and spent five years in Europe fighting in the Second World War. Upon his return from the war Bill joined the Winnipeg Fire Department. Bill retired in 1986 as an Assistant Deputy Chief, after 40 years of service. Bill enjoyed his job and also the comradeships that were formed at work. We would like extend our thanks for the care given by Dr. Husarewicz, nurses and staff on the fifth floor of Seven Oaks Hospital involved in his care. Also thanks to Alexandra from palliative care and family and friends that have shown so much support during this time. A special thanks to the Larry Klassen and the Fire Department for their help during this difficult time. In keeping with Bill's wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Bill's name to the Firefighters Burn Fund, 303 - 83 Garry St. Winnipeg, MB R3C 4J9. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
