DAVID ANTHONY YOUNES (published on May 09, 2009)

DAVID ANTHONY YOUNES On May 5, 2009 surrounded by the love of his family, David Anthony Younes took his final journey to eternal peace. David is survived by his wife and best friend, Kendra, sons, Ryan and Tyler (Carrie), daughter Kyla and grandson Brehdyn David. David was born in Halifax in 1953 to John and Lois Younes and remained there until his free spirit took him to Western Canada where he spent many years pursuing his love of adventure. David developed a love of Harleys and carried this passion throughout his short life. Eventually David migrated east to Manitoba where he met the love of his life, Kendra (whom converted the bachelor). Together they completed a family, a dream for David. David's zest for life and adventure kept Kendra on her toes right to the very end. Together, with each others strength, they successfully developed a real estate endeavor Henderson North. David was an amazing man. This showed in so many ways, especially in his unselfish caring towards his friends and his unconditional devotion to his family. He seemed to have nine lives when it came to his battle against his illness. The road was long and windey, with so many ups and downs, that his/our hope for recovery never diminished. David's strength and forever stubbornness kept him going. Kendra truly believes that David had a plan (as always). He would not leave this world until he successfully completed his work, which included knowing that his family would be well looked after and that she, his wife, would be strong enough to take care of things without him. Once this final mission was complete, David went Home. Never Alone His honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Cybulsky, Keith Fawcett, Doug Rokosh, Ian Shepherd and Tony Sidorov. A Celebration Mass of David's life will be held on Monday, May 11 at 2:00 p.m. in the Notre Dame Catholic Church, Selkirk with Fr. Dado Parrenas officiating. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg R3E 0V9. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
