EVELYN (EVIE) FLORENCE FRITH (published on May 16, 2009)

EVELYN (EVIE) FLORENCE FRITH Evelyn (Evie) Florence Frith passed away Saturday April 25, 2009 in Swan Lake Hospital at the age of 97 years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband H. Irwin Frith; her four sisters, Edith Arnold, Olive Frith, Gladys Hagyard, Edna Hutchinson and their husbands; her parents Thomas and Matilda Manning. She is mourned by her son Ralph and daughter-in-law Evelyn; grandson Kenton (Deirdre); granddaughter Rayna; granddaughter Shanna (Kurt); great-grandchildren Torin and Rowan Frith; Seren and Kate Mazur; numerous nephews and nieces. Evie was born in the Gowancroft District and grew up in Londesboro District and Pilot Mound, Manitoba. She married Irwin Frith in 1935. Their life through the Depression (Dirty Thirties) did much to shape her character. She was hard working, frugal, traditional and firm in her faith. She was an enthusiastic gardener and tireless knitter until, in the last few years, ill health interfered. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All her family and many, many friends will sadly miss her. A funeral service was held in Pilot Mound United Church, Saturday May 2 with Graham Funeral Service in care of arrangements; Rev Irene Onuch officiating. In her memory those who so desire may make donations to the Pilot Mound United Church Memorial Fund or a charity of their choice.
