| SHIRLEY MCQUADE The family of Shirley McQuade sadly announce her passing at Riverview Health Centre the morning of Sunday, May 10, 2009. Shirley was 74 years of age. Shirley was born in Winnipeg on January 3, 1935. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Jack and Isabelle Laing. She will be sadly missed by her husband Dennis, daughter Lynn and husband Allan Giesbrecht, and grandsons Seth and Silvan, son John and wife Janis, and granddaughter Jadynn, sister-in-law Mavis Burr, as well as her nieces and nephews. Shirley grew up in West Kildonan. As a girl she enjoyed figure skating. As an adult she found work at the Canadian Wheat Board and worked there before and after she met and married Dennis. Shirley and Dennis married June 11, 1960, married 49 years. Shirley was a member of the Daughters of the Nile for 25 years. She was a volunteer for the Shriners. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 20 at Neil Bardal Inc., 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, across from Brookside Cemetery. The service will be conducted by Mr. Jack Hooper. The family would like to give thanks to Palliative Care for their care and support. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cancer Care of Manitoba, or the Transportation Fund of the Shriners.
