ROBERT PETER ROBINSON (published on May 23, 2009)

ROBERT PETER ROBINSON November 23, 1934 - May 15, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband and father at the Hunter Memorial Hospital in Teulon. Bob was the last living member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his mother Grace, step-father George, sister Muriel and brothers Jim and Chris. He will be deeply missed by his wife Gloria and daughter Lisa. He will also be mourned by his son Mitchell (Barbara) and their children Kyle and Sara of the Minnedosa area. He is also survived by sons D'Arcy (Mary-Anne) and their son Jeffrey of Sooke, B.C., Mark (Arlene) of Winnipeg, Robbie (Mary-Jane) of Sooke B.C. and Raymond of Winnipeg. Bob was born in Selkirk, MB and was raised at Winnipeg Beach, where he worked as a teenager on his Uncles' farms and did commercial fishing with them. Bob and Gloria were married in 1953 and moved to Redwater, AB where he worked as a battery operator for British American Oil. In later years, Bob was employed as a Service Technician for the Coleman Co. in Minnesota and in Winnipeg for Aristocrat Pools. Bob and Mitch formed their own company Robinson Construction continuing in pool work for many years. Upon Bob's retirement, they returned to Winnipeg Beach where along with his daughter Lisa, they renovated the family home. They did a lot of fishing together, mainly ice-fishing, which they both enjoyed. Bob also loved camping and fishing at Hecla Island with friends and relatives. We would like to thank Dr. P. Pillay and the nursing staff of Hunter Memorial Hospital in Teulon for their compassionate care of Bob. In keeping with Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
