She will also be missed by her pets Deebee and Duncan. Ruby was predeceased by her parents Axel and Olof Johnson, husband August, brother Harold and sisters Eileen and Norma. Ruby was born on November 5, 1936 in Lundar where she lived her entire life. She married August Gudmundson on October 1, 1955. She was an extremely dedicated wife and mother devoting her life to making a good home for her four children. She was a member of the Ladies Aide Bjork for many years as well as a Director of the Agricultural Society. She was always a bookkeeper for her husband's business. An entrepreneur at heart, she sold vacuums to recliners and then operated La-Rus clothing store with her daughter. Helping others was very important to Ruby, assisting those in need whenever she could whether taking people shopping or her daily visits. She was always supportive and would listen and give advice without judgement. She dedicated her time to making other's lives better. Her doors were always open and the community kids would drop by anytime and she was always happy to see them. She loved the beach where they had a cottage for a number of years. You could always find her sitting on her couch knitting or watching her favourite game shows. She rarely ever missed Tuesday and Thursday night Bingo's in town. Christmas was her favourite holiday and she loved to have the family together to watch the kids' faces as they opened their gifts. Grandchildren would drop by often and this was a highlight of her day. Later in life she found love again, met and married Fred Hill in December 2003. They spent many happy years together travelling and enjoying the company of each other. We would like to express our thanks for the special care given to Ruby by Dr. Harris and everyone at CancerCare, Grace Hospital, the Doctors and nurses at the E.M. Crowe Hospital, ambulance attendants and Home Care staff. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Lundar Lutheran Church with Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the Church. Interment to follow in the Lundar Municipal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cole Gudmundson, Dylan Gudmundson, Robert Baldwin, Lyle Baldwin, David Johnson, Michael Johnson. Honorary pallbearer will be Albert Sigurdson.
