Born in Garson on February 21, 1925, Alma grew up on the family farm and later taught school in rural Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg and met Bill whom she married in 1952. They made their home and raised their family in Winnipeg. Devotion to her husband and family were foremost in Alma's life and faith was her foundation. Alma was gifted in painting, quilting, sewing and many other arts and crafts. She loved reading, music, gardening, crosswords, cards and enjoyed watching sports. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and delighted her family with her culinary skills. She always looked forward to getting together with friends for conversation and crafts. She touched everyone she met with her sparkling blue eyes and radiant smile, wit, humour, intelligence, strength and perseverance. The family wishes to thank the Health Care Team and Father Kevin at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care. We are grateful for the time we had to share with her our expressions of love. At the conclusion of family prayers and The Annoiting of the Sick, Alma was released peacefully to Our Lord. Alma will always be in our hearts and lives. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church at 341 Munroe. Reception to follow. Private interment in Beausejour.
